Software Application Designer, Video Systems

Development of end-user applications and embedded software components for command & control and video processing systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for all phases of development including research, planning, design, coding, testing, and documentation.

Design and implementation of end-user applications and some embedded systems software components in C/C++. Unit testing, integration testing, and debugging of software 
components. Project management including scheduling, status reporting, risk mitigation, and contingency planning. Documentation throughout the entire development cycle including high-level specifications, requirements, and design descriptions, detailed implementation specifications, and test plans. System integration of software and hardware components including troubleshooting. Ongoing product support and sustaining engineering, including product release management. Technical evaluation to assess new tools, alternate technologies, and improved design solutions.

Previous experience in Visual C++ programming on Windows XP/2000/NT. User interface design (MFC, ActiveX, COM). Object-oriented design (UML) and programming techniques. Familiarity with data structures, design patterns, STL. Relational databases (ODBC, ADO, SQL). Source code versioning (CVS, Visual SourceSafe). Networking protocols knowledge. B.Sc. or M.Sc. Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
